The association is organized for charitable and education
purposes and qualifies as exempt from Federal Income Tax under
Section 501(C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as
amended. More specifically, such purposes include, but are not
limited to: the furtherance, preservation and education of the
public with respect to purchasing, especially as it relates to the
history and culture of the Indian Tribes of the United States. In
addition, the Association is organized to promote and stimulate
ongoing cooperation, communication, education and resource
development among Native American Organizations, IHS and
the BIA. The association provides opportunities for Native
Organizations to participate and learn about fair, open, equal,
loyal and competitive purchasing practices within the profession.
